Protecting Your Freedom to Hunt Since 1973
The Michigan Chapter of Safari Club International [SCI], was established in 1973 and was the third chapter to join SCI. To this day we are one of the largest chapters in the world. We actively support hunter's rights advocacy, scientific wildlife conservation, and many humanitarian causes at the state, national, and international level. Several Safari Club International Presidents have their roots in our Michigan Chapter. Our chapter consistently supports local hunting and wildlife programs, investing over $100,000.00 per year thanks to our humanitarian donors and sponsors. We raise funds that contribute to significant projects here in Michigan, nationwide, and abroad for wildlife conservation, education, and the protection of hunters' rights.
Our Mission
As an integral part of Safari Club International, our mission is to protect our freedom to hunt, preserve our hunting heritage, and champion science based wildlife conservation worldwide. Our primary purposes are:
- Preserve and protect the rights of all hunters.
- Inform and educate the public concerning the benefits of hunting activities.
- Promoting safe, ethical, and legal hunting.
- Support indigenous people groups worldwide in the scientific conservation of their wildlife.
Our members help reshape the image of hunters and educate the public about our pro-conservation hunting practices. At Safari Club International Michigan Chapter, we participate in humanitarian projects and efforts worldwide. We work hard every day for ethical hunting practices.
